Julie Little (English and Bible)
Julie has an undergraduate degree in writing from Taylor University and a Master’s degree in English from Bowling Green State University. She has taught for more than 25 years in many classrooms and settings. She is passionate about words and the power of story, and she loves to help students learn to live their own stories well.
Katie Connolly (English and History)
Katie was born in St. Louis, educated in North Carolina, and now loves living with her husband and four children in Colorado. She is passionate about reading great books and wrestling with big ideas. She loves to help students become excellent thinkers, eloquent writers, and confident speakers. She has a Master’s degree from North Carolina State University and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This will be her 21st year of teaching.
Dave Huston (science and Psychology)
Dave retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2022 and moved to Buena Vista with his wife, son, and daughter to spend time with them in the mountains and on the river. He is passionate about all things “Leadership” and brings a wealth of knowledge and application engaging in the development of leaders. In doing so he leverages his practical military experience and scholarly academic experience. As a young officer in the military, he led multiple small teams to include those in combat and in the Pentagon. Later in his military career, he led cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy whose mission is to develop 4,000 cadets as Leaders of Character. He has a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Missouri—St. Louis and teaches at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville.
Gavin Depew (Leadership, Health and Fitness)
Gavin spent 24 years as a U.S. Air Force Special Operations officer, leading teams in complex, high-risk environments around the world before retiring as a Colonel. He now lives in Colorado, where he teaches and designs leadership and humanities-based learning experiences that integrate academics, faith, critical thinking, and outdoor challenge. Gavin is passionate about helping students grow as thoughtful leaders, develop resilience, and pursue lives of purpose and integrity. He holds a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Relations from Norwich University, a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from Air University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Jenny Depew (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Photography)
Now based in Colorado after years of living and working internationally, Jenny teaches students through a blend of academic study, leadership development, and outdoor experience. Her work often weaves together language, culture, and hands-on learning, helping students engage with the world around them. Jenny’s Christian faith shapes her commitment to mentoring students with care and purpose. She holds a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Peaceful Conflict Resolution from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from Sterling College with a dual minor in Social Entrepreneurship and Christian Education.
Kyle Stanton (Apologetics)
Kyle is originally from the Midwest, but came out to Colorado for seminary and fell in love with the Mountain West. He moved to Buena Vista with his wife and children in 2024 to pastor All Saints Anglican Church. Having spent a decade in youth ministry, Kyle is passionate about teaching teenagers the truths of Scripture. He loves to explore the Bible, theology, philosophy, and Church history with young people and to encourage them to ask big questions of themselves and God. Kyle is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America, holds a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Moody Bible Institute.
